European silver medallist Louise Maraval took victory in the women’s 400m hurdles at the Folksam Sollentuna Grand Prix on Sunday (14).

The French athlete set a season’s best of 54.80 at the World Athletics Continental Tour Bronze meeting as she continues her build-up to the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships.

Elsewhere, there was a return to form for Slovenia’s twice European indoor medallist Anita Horvat, who won the women’s 800m in 2:00.97.

Ståhl settles for third

The men’s discus was one of the showpiece events of the meeting, featuring Sweden’s home favourite and world champion Daniel Ståhl. However, one week after winning at the Stockholm Diamond League, the giant Swede had to settle for third place with 64.88m.

The competition was won by Olympic champion Roje Stona of Jamaica with 67.79m, ahead of Germany’s European U23 champion Steven Richter, who threw 67.44m.

In the women’s discus, Olympic fifth-place finisher Vanessa Kamga of Sweden was second with 62.16m behind Cuba’s Silinda Morales, who threw 62.60m.

There were also home victories for Fanny Roos, who won the women’s shot put with 19.16m, and Oskar Edlund, who won the men’s 400m hurdles in 48.56.
