Germany have named six medallists from the Roma 2024 European Athletics Championships in the team for the World Athletics Relay Championships in Guangzhou, China on 10-11 May.
They will also be joined by two medallists from the Paris Olympics in a 26-strong team across all disciplines.
Owen Ansah, Lucas Ansah-Peprah and Kevin Kranz, who helped Germany to win bronze in the men’s 4x100m at Roma 2024 are set to team up again. Meanwhile, Roma 2024 men’s 4x400m bronze medallists Emil Agyekum, Lukas Krappe, and Manuel Sanders also join forces again.
Rebekka Haase and Sophia Junk were part of the German team that won women’s 4x100m bronze in Paris and we will seeking more medal success in Guangzhou. All selected athletes will also be available for the mixed relay 4x100m and 4x400m disciplines too.
The top 14 teams in each event, except the mixed 4x100m, will automatically qualify for the Tokyo World Athletics Championships on 13-21 September.
