There is one month to go until the Ljubljana-Kamnik 2026 European Off-Road Running Championships on 5-7 June.
Entries still are open for the 25km and 52km trail races and the 9km uphill mountain races, giving recreational runners a unique experience of running in a European championship setting in the stunning landscape of the Kamnik–Savinja Alpine region in Slovenia.
Ljubljana-Kamnik 2026 will be the third edition of the European Off-Road Running Championships, following successful stagings in El Paso 2022 and Annecy 2024.
The European Off-Road Championships consists of mountain running and trail running disciplines for senior and U20s male and female with individual and team medals up for grabs.
France and Germany seeking more glory
Hosts France were the dominant nation two years ago, taking 22 medals, including 11 gold in Annecy and will be optimistic of more silverware in Slovenia.

Germany’s Nina Engelhard was one of stars of Annecy 2024, claiming a mountain double of both the classic and up and down disciplines.
She repeated the feat at the World Mountain and Trail Running Championships in Canfranc Pirineos, Spain last year. She is expected to be one to watch again this year.
The event will be covered live across European Athletics channels.
