With one month to go until European Athletics Indoor Championships on 6-9 March, the official song for Apeldoorn 2025 and the official medals have been revealed.
The 38th edition of the championships will take place in the Netherlands for the third time ever following Rotterdam 1973 and The Hague 1989.
With athletes of the calibre of twice Olympic gold medallist Jakob Ingebrigtsen, Olympic 800m champion Keely Hodgkinson and world 400m short track record holder Femke Bol all committed to Apeldoorn 2025, it promises to be a memorable four days at the Omnisport arena.
The medals for Apeldoorn 2025 have been unveiled. Medals will be won in 27 event disciplines overall, with the first medals set to be awarded in the Omnisport stadium directly on day one of competition.
On the opening night, the hosts, Olympic champions in the mixed 4x400m relay will be seeking to add the European indoor title to their silverware. Apeldoorn 2025 is the very first time that the mixed 4x400m relay will take place at a European Athletics Indoor Championships.
The medals for the championships are 90mm in diameter and feature the iconic ovals of the Omnisport venue, the official logo for the championships in the centre and stylised athletics track around the perimeter of the medals.
The medals represent the slogan of Apeldoorn 2025 of #MovingPeople.
Anthemic Apeldoorn 2025 song release
Also today (6), the official song “Can’t Stop The Move”, has been released by Massive Music.
It is sung by Dutch artist Eline Esmee, a 27-year-old singer/songwriter and with lyrics that include the lines “It took a lot of sweat and tears; I had a dream and now I'm standing here”, it is inspired by the #MovingPeople slogan it promises to be an anthem for Apeldoorn 2025, both in the build-up and during.
