The courses for the inaugural European Running Championships in Brussels-Leuven on 12-13 April have been unveiled. Around 25,000 runners are expected to take on three spectacular courses over 10km, half marathon and marathon distances.

They will share the course with elite athletes and – for the first time ever - be part of an official European Athletics Championship event. The top 25 fastest runners in each distance will contribute to their country's overall standing in the team competition.

The marathon starts at 10:15 on Sunday (13) at the Royal Palace in the Belgian capital in Brussels, gliding past the iconic European Parliament, and running through lush Tervuren Park. Runners will cross the finish line in Leuven, passing by its majestic City Hall and iconic brewery.

For the half marathon and 10km, Leuven's vibrant streets will play host, it is a city with historic charm and modern energy, runners can expect cheering crowds alongside breath-taking architecture, and an atmosphere filled with excitement from start to finish.

The half marathon takes place on Saturday (12) starting at 10:00 and the 10k begins at 9:30 on Sunday (13).

Places are still available in all three disciplines for this groundbreaking event for the European running community. Register now.
