Europe will parade through Rieti 2026 during the Opening Ceremony on Wednesday, 15 July, at 6:00 p.m.
The city will come alive with the flags and team colours of the competing athletes in a celebration that will fill the historic centre, starting from Piazza Cavour, crossing the Roman Bridge, continuing along Via Roma, through Piazza Vittorio Emanuele II, and concluding in Piazza Cesare Battisti, where the ceremony will take place.
Then, from Thursday, 16 July, to Sunday, 19 July, two competition sessions will be held each day at Guidobaldi Stadium, with athletes competing in 40 disciplines.
During the last days, "Rieti" has been among the most searched and discussed topics on social media. The surge in attention comes as athletics federations from across Europe, following the conclusion of their national championships, have announced their selections for the European Athletics U18 Championships.
A total of 1104 athletes will compete in Rieti: 551 men and 553 women, all born in 2009 or 2010. In total, 48 nations will be represented.
