Two national records highlighted the 35th Warsaw independence Run in Warsaw on Tuesday (11).
On the date that celebrates the 107th anniversary of Poland’s regained independence, home favourite Elżbieta Glinka thrilled the crowds to set a new Polish national record of 32:00 to win the women’s 10km.
The men’s 10km race was a hard-fought event won by one second by Belgian’s Clément Deflandre, but second placed Artūrs Medveds had the significant consolation of a new Latvian National Record of 28:27.
More than 20,000 runners lined up for the event in the Polish capital.
