World shot put champion Jessica Schilder was crowned Dutch Sportswoman of the Year across all sports at the NOC*NSF Sports Gala on Wednesday (17) evening.
This was the third successive year that an athlete has won this accolade following on from Sifan Hassan in 2024 and Femke Bol in 2023.
Schilder struck gold in the shot put in the sixth round at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo and also won gold on home soil at the European Athletics Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn where the hosts won seven gold medals.
Bol, who won this award two years ago, finished second in the voting on the women’s side, making it a 1-2 for athletics.
Track cyclist Harrie Lavreysen was named 2025 Dutch Sportsman of the Year
