The indoor season is launching exciting year ahead as many athletes compete for the first time in 2026, but there’s also been some fun findings on social media too. 

Here's a quick look at some of the notable moments from European athletes on social media in the last week.

Mondo Duplantis drops new song

What can’t he do? Mondo Duplantis may have broken the world record 14 times, but he is also a musician and released his new song “Mans” on 9 January.

He wrote the song with Rex Warren, and it marks his third song after he took the athletics world by surprise and release his first two last year.

Eilish McColgan is SOOOO back!

The British endurance runner, McColgan, regained the 10k European record in Valencia and shared her reflection on her journey to get back to the top after a difficult few years where she struggled to reach the performances she knew she was capable of.

McColgan described how she has seen people doubt her ability due to various reasons, but hopes her resilience inspires other people to still go for their dreams.

Jakob Ingebrigtsen’s golden start

After a challenging 2025, Jakob Ingebrigtsen started the new year at home in Norway with a different type of gold, rather than medals, he spent the time with his golden retrievers.,

He revealed he will soon be seeking much warmer weather for his training camp ahead of competing in 2026.

They have been in South Africa, making the most of the warm weather, for a group training camp ahead of the indoor season.

Italy’s Olympian to father transition

Gianmarco Tamberi shared a snapshot of how his and Stefano Sottile’s lives have changed in just 17 months, from competing at Paris 2024 Olympics together to having young children.

The Italian pair both competed in the high jump in Paris, where they tied for sixth, but now they beam in the sharing of fatherhood.
