The Cosma Cup returns to Palanga with many of Lithuania’s stars set entertain the home crowd on 17 June, live on European Athletics’ YouTube Channel.
With Lithuania’s great historic success in the discus, it is one of the events to watch with Andrius Gudzius headlining the field.
With a world and European title to his name, Gudzius is the most decorated athlete competing on Wednesday and has a best of 67.73m this year, thrown earlier this month in Palanga.
However, he’ll come up against his 25-year-old countryman Martynas Alekna, a world finalist, who has a season’s best of 62.00m but has not thrown in competition since mid-May.

Also joining them is Chilean record holder Claudio Romero, Portuguese record holder Emanuel Sousa, Romanian world finalist Alin Firfirica, Hungary’s Janos Huszak, and 23-year-old Swede Jesper Ahlin.
On the track Ecuador’s Aimara Nazareno leads the women’s 100m, with 21-year-old Pole Aleksandra Piotrowska and Lithuania’s Ema Rupsyte.
Home favourites Gediminas Truskauskas and Lukrecija Sabaityte will also compete in the men’s and women’s 200m.
While the women’s triple jump sees Brazilian duo Gabriele Santos and Regiclecia Candido take on a strong contingent of Lithuanian jumpers.
That includes 19-year-old Aureja Beniusyte and 17-year-old Gerte Zickute who have jumped 13.12m and 12.32m respectively this year.
