International athletics returns to Ireland with the Morton Games, a World Athletics Continental Tour bronze meet, on 10 July shown live on European Athletics’ YouTube Channel, from 7:30pm CEST.

The women’s hammer is the standout event of the meet with Canada’s Olympic and two-time world champion, Camryn Rogers, in attendance.

Joining her is Irish U23 national record holder and Bergen 2025 European Athletics U23 Championships silver medallist, Nicola Tuthill, who is fresh off a new PB of 72.73m.

The duo both competed at the Cork City Sports meeting on Wednesday (8), where Rogers came oit on top with 76.16m with Tuthill second with 72.35m.

Norway’s Beatrice Llano, who has a PB of 73.08m, Great Britain’s Charlotte Payne, with a PB of 72.51m, Germany’s former European U23 champion Samantha Borutta, with a PB of 72.14m, and Cyprus’ Bergen 2025 bronze medallist Valentina Savva, with a PB of 70.22m, will all also take to the circle.

The stacked line up almost guarantees a new stadium record as it currently stands at 73.21m, with Rogers most likely to break the record as her PB stands at 81.13m and she’s thrown over 80m three times this year.

Lake aiming high

British record holder Morgan Lake will compete in the women's high jump after clearing 2.00m for the first time last year at the Zurich Diamond League.

She’ll be joined by Czechia’s Michaela Hruba, and Guinea’s Fatoumata Balley, who both also have PB’s higher than the current stadium record of 1.92m set in 1997.

In the shot put Ireland’s Eric Favors and John Kelly, who have respective PB’s of 20.93m and 20.16m, will look to impress the home crowd.

But they’ll face defending champion, Nick Palmer of New Zealand, who has thrown a best of 21.19m already this year.

Sweden’s Wictor Petersson, Apeldoorn 2025 European Athletics Indoor Championships silver medallist, though is also a strong favourite for the win as he leads the line up with a PB of 21.49m and a season’s best of 21.38m.

The women’s 100m hurdles sees several sub-13 athletes in Switzerland’s Selina Von Jackowski, Great Britain’s Emma Nwofor, Nigeria’s Adaobi Tabugbo, Poland’s Marika Majewska, and Germany’s Hawa Jalloh.

Several members of the Irish 4x400m squad will contest the 400m, including Sophie Becker who’s PB stands at 51.13.

Though the fastest in the field is Bahamas’ Printassia Johnson while Bergen 2025 4x400m gold medallist Poppy Malik of Great Britain will also take to the start line.

Jack Raftery will be looking to try and run the first sub-45 400m on Irish soil having ran 44.98 in Maribor last year, as he returns to home soil for a stacked meet.

Belgium’s Tibo De Smet, 2024 world indoor 4x400m gold medallist, will be competing over the 800m alongside Ireland’s Cillian Kirwan, fellow Belgian Timo Inghelbrecht, and Portugal’s David Garcia.

While the women’s 800m sees a line up that includes the both the reigning Irish outdoor and indoor champions in Alex O’Neill and Hannah Seagrave, while 22-year-old Emma Moore will also look to defeat her compatriots and international athletes.
