The Folksam Grand Prix Karlstad World Athletics Continental Tour silver meet goes to Sweden on 8 July, live on European Athletics’ website* from 17:10 CEST.
Two discus giants in Daniel Stahl and Kristjan Ceh will both step into the circle as they face one another for the sixth time this year.
Stahl, the Olympic and three-time world champion, has beat the reigning European champion once in their meetings this year when he threw 69.60m to take the win at the Stockholm Diamond League.
It will be a duel that gives us another preview for the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships where we can expect to see Ceh and Stahl, amongst others, battle it out for the European title.

In the women’s discus, six-time national champion Vanessa Kamga has been confirmed to step foot in the circle.
So far this year, she has thrown 64.02m to go 10th on the European list this year after throwing a PB and national record of 66.61m at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.
The women’s long jump will see young home star Maja Askag on the runway after jumping a lifetime best of 6.80m at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene on Saturday.

On the track Carl Bengtstrom, European bronze medallist, and Oskar Edlund, European U20 silver medallist and European U23 bronze medallist, will clash over the 400m hurdles.
Both Edlund and Bengtstrom have already run the qualifying standard of 49.00 for Birmingham 2026 and currently stand ninth and 14th respectively in Europe this year.
