The 50th anniversary of Meeting Nikaia takes place on Satutrday (13) with a legendary men’s javelin duo taking centre stage in France.
The World Athletics Continental Tour bronze meeting will be streamed live on the European Athletics website from 18:20 CEST (geoblocked in France and UK).
Germany's Thomas Röhler, the 2016 Olympic and 2018 European champion, will be competing for the fifth time this season after throwing over 80m three times already this season.
But also joining him in Nice is Anderson Peters of Grenada the two-time world champion who has a season’s best of 86.08m to Rohler’s 83.33m.
The two javelin giants will go head-to-head at the meet in what has potential to be the event of the night.
Also set to compete in Nice is the 2023 European indoor champion Jazmin Sawyers of Great Britain who has improved in each competition so far this season with her best so far measuring at 6.62m.
In the middle distance events, Great Britain's former European bronze medallist Elliot Giles is set to race in the men's 800m and Alessia Zarbo of Italy, who recently won silver at the European 10,000m Cup, will go in the women's 5000m.
