With the Apeldoorn 2025 European Athletics Indoor Championships less than 50 days away, the indoor season steps up in pace with three streamed World Athletics Indoor Tour events taking place this weekend.

This is our guide to how and where to watch and a look at some of the big names in action across the weekend.

Sparkassen Indoor Meeting - Dortmund (World Athletics Indoor Tour Bronze)

Olympic shot put champion Yemisi Ogunleye and European long jump champion Malaika Mihambo are two of the headline acts on home soil at the Sparkassen Indoor Meeting in Dortmund.

Ogunleye faces double European silver medallist Jorinde Van Klinken from the Netherlands in the shot put while Mihambo, who followed up her European long jump title in Rome with Olympic silver in Paris, takes on a field including Laura Raquel Muller.

Muller won at the Helmut-Kornig Arena last year ahead of Mihambo with a still-standing outright lifetime best of 6.81m.

Another highlight from last year’s meeting was Georgia Bell winning the 1500m in 4:03.54 in a breakthrough year which culminated with the Brit winning Olympic bronze in Paris in a national record of 3:52.61.

StarPerche - Bordeaux (World Athletics Indoor Tour Bronze)

European U23 champion Marie-Julie Bonnin faces a strong Italian contingent including Roberta Bruni and Sonia Malavasi at the fifth edition of the StarPerche on Saturday.

French pole vaulters Baptiste Thierry, who has the best season’s best in the field with 5.61m, faces teammate Valentin Lavillenie and up-and-coming Chinese vaulter Haoyang Song in the men’s pole vault.

CMCM Indoor Meeting - Luxembourg (World Athletics Indoor Tour Silver)

European 400m champion and Olympic silver medallist Natalia Bukowiecka will make her season’s debut at the CMCM Indoor Meeting but the Pole will drop down in distance to make a rare appearance in the 200m.

Bukowiecka, who broke Irena Szewinska’s legendary Polish 400m record last year with 48.98, will face local hero Patrizia Van Der Weken who is due to contest both the 60m and 200m.

Van Der Weken won the 60m at last year’s meeting in a fast 7.09 which remains both her lifetime best as well as the national record.

Reigning European outdoor pole vault champion Angelica Moser from Switzerland is another of the star international names in action in the Coque Arena. Moser won at this meeting last year with a 4.60m clearance.

Other expected highlights include the men's 60m hurdles featuring leading Poles Jakub Szymanski and Damian Czykier and the women's long jump featuring reigning European U20 champion Plamena Mitkova from Bulgaria against former European U20 champions Maja Askag from Sweden Milica Gardasevic from Serbia.

Olympic 4x400m silver medallist Alex Haydock-Wilson from Great Britain has also been confirmed for the 400m.
