Poland has officially selected twelve athletes to represent the nation at the upcoming European Race Walking Team Championships, scheduled to take place on May 18 in Poděbrady.

Leading the 12-strong Polish contingent is seasoned competitor Katarzyna Zdziebło, who won silver in both the women’s 20km and 35km race walks at the Eugene 2022 World Athletics Championships and 20km silver at the Munich 2022 European Athletics Championships

The men’s team will be led by Maher Ben Hlima, who was 7th in the men’s 20km race walk at the Roma 2024 European Athletics Championships. Ben Hlima set a new national record of 2:27:51 for the men’s 35km in Dudince, Slovakia on 22 March.

Poland has won 15 medals at the European Race Walking Championships since the inaugural edition in La Coruña 1996 and will be cautiously optimistic of adding to that tally.
