World record-holder Yaroslava Mahuchikh will continue her 2026 campaign at the INIT Indoor Meeting Karlsruhe in Germany on Sunday 8 February.

The Ukrainian Olympic and European champion made a brilliant start to her indoor season, winning on home territory in Lviv on 17 January with a clearance of 2.03m.

Stiff competition

She will now venture into international competition at the World Athletics Indoor Tour Gold event where she will face stiff opposition.

Fellow Ukrainian and former world silver medallist Yuliya Levchenko, Sweden’s European indoor bronze medallist Engla Nilsson, former world U20 champion Michaela Hruba of Czechia, ten times French champion Solène Gicquel and Germany’s home hopes Christina Honsel and Bianca Stichling have also confirmed their participation.

After losing her world title last year to Australia’s Nicola Olyslagers in Tokyo last summer, Mahuchikh will be looking to re-assert herself on the international stage with both the Kujawy Pomorze 2026 World Athletics Indoor Championships on 20-22 March and the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships on 10-16 August in her sights.

Karlsruhe is where Mahuchikh broke the world U20 record, clearing 2.02m in 2020 and she will be seeking to make more memories at the prestigious German meeting.
