Olympic and European bronze medallist Mykhaylo Kokhan threw 78.07m to edge two places up the 2026 world list at the Nurullah Ivak Throwing Cup, a World Athletics Continental Tour Challenger event, in Izmir.
The Ukrainian opened his season at the European Throwing Cup with 77.79m, but even after improving that distance on Sunday (19), he is still aiming for much more.
With the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships looming, Kokhan will be looking to improve on his bronze medal from the 2024 European Athletics Championships in Rome.
"Still a lot of work to do. Next week another competition," he said on Instagram.
By the end of April in 2025, Kokhan broke the 80.00m mark and so will be aiming to replicate that achievement when he competes again next week.
Despite throwing a lifetime best of 82.02m in Tokyo at the World Athletics Championships in September, Kokhan placed an agonising fourth.
Details about streaming for the 2026 World Athletics Continental Tour will be communicated very soon.
