There were more impressive marks on the third day of the Ukrainian Championships in Yalta with sprinter Yelizaveta Bryzgina leading the way when she ran a European-leading 200m of 22.69 on Thursday.
Viktoriya Pyatachenko was second with a personal best of 22.71.
In an eagerly anticipated women's final in the wake of some outstanding results in Wednesday's heats, former European champion Natalya Lupu triumphed in a personal best 1:58.46 over Yulia Krevsun, who was second in 1:59.25. Olena Zushman finished third in a personal best of 1:59.32, her first time under two minutes, while Liliya Lobanova was fourth in 1:59.62.
Hanna Titimets won the 400m hurdles in a season's best of 54.98, the seventh European hurdler under 55 seconds this year, coming home ahead ahead of Anna Yaroshchuk who was second in 55.16.
In the men's track events, Serhiy Smelik won the 200m in a personal best of 20.63, Stanyslav Melnykov took the 400m hurdles title in 49.53 and Ihor Davydov won the 800m in 1:46.98.
In the 5000m there was a surprise when nine-time SPAR European Cross Country Championships Serhiy Lebid suffered a rare loss to a compatriot when Mykola Labovskiy sliced more than 26 seconds off his previous best to win in 13.23.50, with Lebid second in 13:35.35.
Veteran hammer thrower Oleksandr Dryhol, now 46, continues his remarkable season when he won in 78.32m. The 2009 European junior champion Andriy Martynyuk, over 24 years younger than Dryhol, was second with 77.70m while Artyom Rubanko finished third with 77.10m.
In women's hammer, there was a national U23 record for Hanna Skidan, who threw 74.21m to beat Irina Novozhilova, who was second with 73.42m.
Javelin wins went to Oleksandr Pyatnytsa with 84.87m and Vira Rebryk with 62.61m. Andriy Protsenko equalled his best when he cleared 2.31m in the high jump and pole vaulter Vladyslav Revenko won his specialist event with 5.55m.
