  • Europe's 10 most fashionable athletes | Sawyers, Duplantis, Hodgkinson, Zhoya, Asher-Smith

Paris Fashion Week is now upon us (2-10 March) and the world is set to descend on the French capital ready for runways, shows and presentations.

Athletes themselves are no strangers to the spotlight nor the latest trends, so let's take a timely look at 10 of Europe’s most fashionable athletes.

Jazmin Sawyers (GBR)

When you think of fashion and athletes, Jazmin Sawyers is of course one of the first to come to mind. The Istanbul 2023 European Athletics Indoor Championships long jump gold medallist is familiar with both types of runways – the athletics and fashion kind.

Fashion was a crucial way for Sawyers to cope with her achilles rupture in April 2024, while she missed out on competing she leapt right into the world of fashion that she had always had a passion for.

But it doesn’t stop there, Sawyers also makes her own clothes! She’s made dresses for movie premiers, awards evenings, and talk shows.

Mondo Duplantis (SWE)

Mondo Duplantis draws in the crowds wherever he goes, with people desperate to watch him break his world record – again. But he also enjoys exploring the world of fashion.

Any opportunity to get dressed up Duplantis takes it, and he often has lots of chances to do so! His fiance, Desire Inglander, and Duplantis are often contestants for best dressed couple in any room they go into.

Whether it’s a suit and tie or sweatshirt and baseball cap, Duplantis also sets standards off the track as he embraces fashion.

Keely Hodgkinson (GBR)

The recent 800m indoor world record breaker, Keely Hodgkinson, shines bright off the track through her fashion, just like she does on the track.

From her signature long blonde locks, to getting glammed up, Hodgkinson doesn’t shy away from it. She’s attended fashion shows across the world, even including a Christian Louboutin show in October 2025.

Fashion is clearly as much a passion for Hodgkinson as track is, and we can’t wait to see how the intersectionality of her two loves continue to cross over.

Sasha Zhoya (FRA)

We couldn’t talk about Paris Fashion Week without highlighting the fashion icon that is Sasha Zhoya. The Australian-born French athlete embodies the spirit of Paris fashion week perfectly, he explores different styles, patterns, fabrics, and poses to create fashion a personal Pinterest board.

Zhoya pushes the boundaries of men’s fashion and isn’t afraid to try something new, even sometimes layering a skirt over some trousers – he always finds a way to stand out!

Rhasidat Adeleke (IRE)

Ireland’s Rhasidat Adeleke showcases her love for fashion through her on track accessories as well as through off-track outfits. During the Paris 2024 Olympics Adeleke went viral for her beauty and big white bow in her hair as fans were left in awe over her.

Her detailed care over her hairstyles while competing is one of the things that really makes the 400m runner stand out, alongside her small yet eye-catching jewellery details.

But outside the stadiums she’s also recognised by the fashion world, and was even one of the faces of the first ever Ireland Fashion Week in 2025!

Dina Asher-Smith (GBR)

Britain’s Dina Asher-Smith is another star that crosses over between athletics and fashion, and has even been on the cover of British Vogue.

She told Esquire in 2025, “Tracee Ellis-Ross is my main inspiration, I love her. I am a big fan of Vivienne Westwood and what she stood for.

“I love the work of McQueen and Galliano. I am also a big fan of Matthieu Blazy [creative director of Chanel]. I relate to his dedication to craftsmanship and innovation, and I relate to that as a sports person, as I am always trying to think about how to be better and do better in innovative ways.”

For Asher-Smith there’s beauty within the choice that fashion brings, that women don’t have to be glammed up all the time but instead they can choose to present themselves how they feel best.

Marcell Jacobs (ITA)

The two-time European champion, Marcell Jacobs, always had an interest in fashion as he grew up in Italy, he likes to pay particular attention to the details even when he is racing.

He is often donning a sparkly chain and some bracelets when he races, ensuring that even on the track when in uniform, he still looks good.

But he also launched his own merch line in 2023 that featured graphic tees and hoodies of the 2021 Olympic Champion, his name or ‘if you can dream it, you can be it’.

Alica Schmidt (GER)

The German 800m runner, Alica Schmidt, is one of the most followed track and field athletics in the world on Instagram, amassing more than five million followers through her mix of training and fashion content.

Her following has helped her to break into the fashion world, even making her fashion week show debut in Milan 2021 when she walked for Hugo Boss alongside modelling stars including Gigi Hadid.

Ewa Swoboda (POL)

The Polish rocket, Ewa Swoboda, doesn’t express her love for fashion in the stereotypical way, instead she often portrays it through bold make up looks and her many tattoos.

She is one of the most recognisable European athletes due to her tattoos, but she will also always have her nails done and accessorise with multiple rings, bracelets and a necklace.

The track is Swoboda’s runway and she definitely makes it shine!

Lorenzo Simonelli (ITA)

Lorenzo Simonelli, the reigning 100m hurdles European champion, has started to explore fashion more recently, even modelling for Nike last year.

Since his breakout year in 2024 where he won gold at a home European Championships and silver at the world indoors, it is clear to see online that the hurdler has started experimenting more with his clothing.
