Aside from Femke Bol who will make her highly anticipated 800m debut, fellow reigning world champion Mattia Furlani has also been confirmed for the long jump at the at the Meeting Metz Moselle, a World Athletics Indoor Tour Silver meeting, on 8 February.

The Meeting Metz Moselle will be streamed live on the European Athletics website with more details to be announced closer to the time.

Furlani has started his 2026 season in auspicious form, setting an early season world lead of 8.33m at the Meeting Indoor de Paris on Sunday, only six centimetres shy of his lifetime best set at the 2025 World Athletics Championships in Tokyo where he won gold.

 

Poland’s Pia Skrzyszowska has been added to the 60m hurdles line-up where she is due to face fellow world champion Ditaji Kambundji from Switzerland. Kambundji and Skrzyszowska also won gold and bronze respectively at the 2025 European Athletics Indoor Championships in Apeldoorn where the Swiss broke the European record with 7.67. 

Reigning European indoor and outdoor champion Angelica Moser has also been announced for the pole vault. She will face Slovenia’s Tina Sutej who won medals in all three major championships in 2025, including European indoor silver behind Moser in Apeldoorn.
