Amy Hunt is set to open her outdoor season at the Shanghai Diamond League on 16 May over 200m as she targets the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships.
But she’ll face tough competition in the second fastest woman ever over 200m, Jamaica’s Shericka Jackson and the USA's former world 100m champion Sha'Carri Richardson.
Hunt and Jackson clashed in Tokyo at the World Athletics Campionships last year, with the British sprinter narrowly taking silver in the final ahead of Jackson in third.
In form sprinters
However Jackson, the former Olympic and world champion, had been coming back from injury that had forced her to withdraw from the Olympics in 2024.
The Jamaican seems to be in good form as she opened her season in Kingston over 400m clocking 52.04 and Richardson is set to open her season at the historic Stawell Gift sprint handicap races in Australia over the Easter weekend (4-6).
Hunt's stock is also on the rise with her breakthrouh medal in Tokyo and following a successful indoor season will be looking to assert herself further over 200m.
The Briton has a PB of 22.08 and will be desperate to dip under 22 seconds for the first time and also take gold at Birmingham 2026 this season.
Also in the line up is are the USA's Anavia Battle, Mckenzie Long, and Jenna Prandini.
