Olympic shot put champion Yemisi Ogunleye is confirmed for the Sparkassen Shot Put Meeting in Rochlitz, a World Athletics Indoor Challenger meeting, on 1 February.
Ogunleye finished second in this meeting two years ago behind China’s recently retired Gong Lijiao and the organisers are promising to assemble a field of the highest calibre to challenge the Olympic champion on home soil.
"What's certain is that there will be a world class field in both the women's and men's events," said Christian Sperling, head of the organising team.
Ogunleye is also due to compete the previous week at the ISTAF Indoor in Düsseldorf on 24 January, one of 18 World Athletics Indoor Tour Silver meetings which are due to take place in Europe in 2026 on the road to the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Kujawy Pomorze, Poland from 20-22 March.
Torben Blech and Alica Schmidt have also been confirmed for the pole vault and 800m respectively at the Erfurt Indoor 2026, a World Athletics Indoor Tour Challenger meeting, on 13 February.
