World medallist Patricia Silva is set to compete at the Meeting de l’Eure World Indoor Tour silver meeting on 1 February over 800m.

The meeting is one of 23 from the World Athletics Indoor Tour that will be live streamed by European Athletics.

The Portuguese athlete won bronze over this distance at the Nanjing 2025 World Indoor Championships last year and will be looking to return to the podium again this year.

Last year she also made it to the final of the Apeldoorn 2025 European Athletics Championships, however this was over 1500m, where she placed seventh.

She closed off her successful year last year, with a silver medal in the mixed relay at the Lagoa 2025 European Cross Country Championships.

Silva then opened her season in Luxembourg on the 18 January where she ran 4:08.35, her fastest season opener over this distance.

The nine-time Portuguese national champion, across indoors and outdoors, will be looking to win her first European medal on the track this year as well as growing her world medal collection as the Birmingham 2026 European Athletics Championships come ever closer.

In the men’s 800m race, reigning African champion Alex Ngeno Kipngetich of Kenya will also take to the track.  Last year Kipngetich narrowly missed out on making the final at Nanjing 2025 after placing fourth in his semifinal.
