2025 Rising Star Audrey Werro is the first significant name to be announced for the Meeting de l’Eure in Val-de-Reuil in France, a World Athletics Indoor Tour Silver meeting, on 7 February.

Werro opened her season with victory in the 800m at this meeting last year with a 2:00.34 clocking. The 21-year-old raced extensively throughout the season, eventually taking her lifetime best and Swiss record down to 1:55.91 for victory in the Diamond League final on home soil in Zurich.

Among the many other season’s highlights, Werro also won the European U23  800m title in a gun-to-tape championship record of 1:57.34 and finished sixth in a highly competitive 800m final at the World Athletics Championships in Tokyo.

These performances propelled Werro to the women’s Rising Star award at the Golden Tracks award night in Batumi, Georgia in October, becoming just the second Swiss recipient of the award.

"I’m really proud to be the second Swiss to win this award. It’s a really good reward for all the hard work we are doing during the year. I already have a place for this award, it is going to go next to the Diamond for the Diamond League," said Werro on accepting her award.

Other highlights at last year’s Meeting de l’Eure included George Mills winning the 3000m in a British record of 7:27.92 and soon-to-be world champion Jessica Schilder winning the shot put with 19.85m.
