Another busy weekend of athletics is coming up on the road to the Apeldoorn 2025 European Athletics Indoor Championships from 6-9 March with three live streamed event from Rouen, Aubière and Nantes.

This is who's competing and how you can follow the action.

Perche Elite Tour - Rouen (World Athletics Indoor Tour Silver)

Emmanouil Karalis from Greece joined the exclusive six metre group with his first ever 6.00m clearance last year and the Olympic bronze medallist opens his season against a world class field in Rouen on Friday.

Karalis faces Olympic silver medallist Sam Kendricks - a four-time winner in Rouen - and fellow American Chris Nilsen who cleared a meeting record of 6.05m in Rouen in 2022.

The line-up also features Dutchman Menno Vloon - the world leader at this early juncture of the season with a 5.82m clearance - along with 2022 European silver medallist Bo Kanda Lita Baehre from Germany and leading French vaulters Thibaut Collet and Baptiste Thiery.

The women’s line-up is headed by Slovenian veteran Tina Sutej, the silver medallist at the 2023 European Athletics Indoor Championships.

World indoor champion Molly Caudery, who won last year with a meeting record of 4.86m, is a late withdrawal along with European outdoor champion Angelica Moser from Switzerland.

X-Athletics - Aubiere (World Athletics Combined Events Tour Silver)

  • When: 25-26 January
  • Live streaming on the European Athletics website: day one from 11.50am, day two from 10.50am CET (geoblocked in France)
  • Live results

Last year’s winner Simon Ehammer from Switzerland returns to Aubiere for the X-Athletics combined events meeting this weekend.

Ehammer scored 6242 points for victory in the heptathlon last year en route to gold at the World Athletics Indoor Championships in Glasgow where he improved to 6418 points to move into the world all-time top-10.

The heptathlon line-up features four other combined eventers with 6000 points-plus lifetime bests including Spain’s Jorge Urena, a medallist in the heptathlon at the last four editions of the European Athletics Indoor Championships.

By contrast, the pentathlon lacks a standout favourite. The leading entrants include Italy’s Sveva Gereveni, who just missed out on a medal at the World Athletics Indoor Championships last year when she finished fourth, and Austria’s 2019 world heptathlon bronze medallist Verena Mayr.

Mayr has the best lifetime best score in the field with 4637 points.

Meeting Elite Indoor de Nantes (World Athletics Indoor Tour Bronze)

European U23 800m champion Yanis Meziane headlines a classy 800m field in Nantes which also features bronze medallist Paul Anselmini and Ireland’s 2022 European 800m bronze medallist Mark English.

One of the most improved 1500m runners of last year, Agathe Guillemot drops down to the 800m. Guillemot won bronze at the 2024 European Athletics Championships and reached the Olympic final on home soil in Paris, setting a national record of 3:56.69 in the semifinals.

Other expected highlights include the women’s 60m featuring Orlann Orliere against Belgians Rani Rosius and Delphine Nkansa and the men’s 400m featuring world 4x400m silver medallist Teo Andant against top Portuguese runners Joao Coelho and Ricardo dos Santos.

World and European indoor 60m hurdles bronze medallist Just Kwaou-Mathey is also due to make his competitive comeback in the 60m flat.
