World high jump record-holder Yaroslava Mahuchikh will compete for Ukraine at the 2025 European Athletics Team Championships 1st Division in Madrid, Spain from 27-29 June.
Mahuchikh was among the individual winners at the European Athletics Team Championships in Silesia where Ukraine sealed promotion back into the 1st Division along with Hungary and Lithuania.
Ukraine will have high hopes of securing maximum points in the men’s high jump as well through reigning European indoor champion Oleh Doroshchuk, the world leader at 2.34m.
And the Ukrainians will be optimistic of securing big points in the men’s throwing events. Their team also features Olympic and European bronze medallist Mykhaylo Kokhan in the hammer and reigning European U23 champion Artur Felfner and reigning European U20 champion Mykhaylo Brudin in the javelin and discus respectively.
Other notable names on the Ukrainian team include 2016 European 800m champion Natalia Krol in the 1500m and veteran discus thrower Natalia Semenova, the bronze medallist at the 2012 European Athletics Championships.
