Fresh from winning national titles in Darmstadt at the weekend (29-30) Elena Burkard and Markus Görger have been named in the German team for the Lagoa 2025 SPAR European Cross Country Championships on 14 December.
Burkard, who took a middle distance and long course double in Darmstadt has been selected for the senior women’s race alongside by European 10km silver medallist Eva Dieterich, who was runner up in Sunday’s long course race.
Similarly, the senior men’s contingent will consist of the first two finishers at the German Cross Country Championships. Winner Görger and runner-up Nick Jäger have both been named for Lagoa 2025.
In the age group races, world U20 and European U20 mountain running champion Julia Ehrle will lead the German challenge. The European U20 5000m bronze medallist was pipped for a medal at the Antalya 2024 SPAR European Cross Country Championships.
