Final entries for the European Athletics U23 Championships in Bergen from 17-20 July have been published and are available to view.

The European Athletics U23 Championships will be streamed live in its entirety through the European Athletics website and will be accompanied by expert English-language commentary. Daily highlights will also be published on the European Athletics YouTube channel.

The entry-lists are headed by two individual gold medallists from the Apeldoorn 2025 European Athletics Indoor Championships. Finland’s Saga Vanninen will be defending her title in the heptathlon and Bulgaria’s Bozhidar Saraboyukov has entered both the long jump and the triple jump.

Other individual medallists from Apeldoorn 2025 who are due to compete include European indoor silver medallist Maksymilian Szwed from Poland in the 400m and 4x400m, European indoor silver and bronze medallists Angelica Topic from Serbia and Sweden’s Engla Nilsson in the women’s high jump and European indoor bronze medallist Matteo Sioli from Italy in the men’s high jump.

European indoor 400m silver medallist Henriette Jaeger has been the face of the championships and the Norwegian could be one of the busiest athletes. The 22-year-old, who won silver two years ago behind Great Britain’s Yemi Mary John who will be defending her title in Bergen, has entered the 200m, 400m as well as the 4x400m.

Last year’s men’s and women’s Rising Stars at the Golden Tracks award ceremony are also due to compete. Fresh from smashing Jakob Ingebrigtsen’s European U23 mile record with victory at the Prefontaine Classic in Eugene with 3:45.94, Niels Laros from the Netherlands has entered both the 800m and 5000m at these championships.

Adriana Vilagos, who was crowned women’s Rising Star last year, will be looking to follow up her European U20 title in the javelin two years ago with gold in the U23 ranks. The two-time European senior medallist is second on the 2025 world list with 67.22m.

Great Britain topped the medal table at the 2023 European Athletics U23 Championships in Espoo with seven gold medals and 14 in total. Six championship records were also set including record marks from Mykolas Alekna in the discus (68.34m) and Markus Rooth in the decathlon (8608 points).

In-depth previews looking ahead to next week’s European Athletics U23 Championships will begin to be published later this week.
